Meet the Instructor
Hi, I’m Julie.
I grew up in Colorado, where much of my childhood happened outside—wandering in the Rocky Mountains, building forts, getting dirty, using our imaginations, and learning simply by being part of the world around us.
When I became a mother, I found myself wanting that same sense of freedom, curiosity, and connection for my son.
That became the beginning of Wild & Wise.
Wild came from the unbridled adventure I wanted for him—the freedom to explore, take risks, ask big questions, and follow his curiosity.
Wise speaks to ancestral wisdom, the teachings held in the natural world, and the quiet knowing that comes from living in relationship with the land and all our relations.
We cannot find wisdom if we do not wonder.
The philosophies of Reggio Emilia helped give language to something I already felt deeply: wonder and wisdom are inseparable.

At Wild & Wise, we honor that wonder by following children's curiosity rather than rushing toward a predetermined answer. A question, discovery, or unexpected interest can become an invitation to look closer, experiment, create, and explore.
By following those threads of curiosity, we deepen not only what children learn, but their love of learning itself.
